Dear friends,
my Opus clone is working fine and I can read again almost all the old important discs I had.
At this point I would like to be able to copy them on .OPD images to keep them safe and be able to use on some emulator.
So in addition to the original 180K drive, I also connected a Gotek drive with FlashFloppy firmware. On Gotek I put a pendrive with some blank images created with an emulator.
I thought a flat cable with two connectors and a correct AB / BA jumper setting was sufficient.
In reality I have not found a working configuration with which to access the contents of the different discs.
So I tried different combination of S0 and S1 pin drives. And some for AB/BA.... Nothing
At last I used a flat cable for PC (that is a classic flat cable with the 5 inverted wires on the first connector) and with the configuration drawn in the diagram that I attach, I can read the contents of the different discs.
So I loaded the Disc Manger program to copy the files from the real disc (disc 1) to Gotek (disc 2), but when copying, when it accesses disc 2 it gives me the error "E write protected".
I tried to understand if this error was due to the empty image I had created or to the pendrive that contains it (I remember that unit 2 is a Gotek).
If I connect the Gotek, as the only disc, I can write inside the image without any problem.
Am I doing something wrong?
I seem to remember that Zaxon made a setup similar to mine with a real drive and Gotek and it seems to work.
Can you confirm the type of flat cable to use and the S0 / S1 settings on the individual drives?
Please, can you help me?
Thank you
Claudio
