New Compo machine - ZX81!

ZX81 is another computer for which competitions will be held. Initially, it was not taken into account, but some very interesting circumstances made it appear, because there is an opportunity for it!

Competition details:

• Compo machine: ZX81 + ZXPand+ +AY


• Production format: .p file


• Deadline: 23:59:59 on 31st March 2020

Additional information:

• A winning combo and two runners-up will be buried in an ROM in the specially designed interface for this party. The combo limit is 8KB in this case. The combo will be kept in ROM and ran by executing command: RAND USR 8192. The organisers will make all effort to convert the compos to the ROM format as far as practically possible but not guaranteed.


• The interface will be made in a very small batch - 10 units only. 5 units will be given to the most active speccy.pl portal and forum users & supporters. The selecting criteria has not been agreed yet.


• The five top compo's programmers will be given the interface as a gratification for their involvements and time spend on hard programming works.


• In case, no single combo entry, the hardware will be build but its ROM's content will be in digression of organisers.

The most important events and attractions, demoscene competitions:

• Demoscene competitions will take part after 4PM. We are expecting the following categories both for ZX Spectrum, Sam Coupé and ZX81 computers: Demo, Graphics, Music and Wild.

Terms and conditions of competition

• Each piece of work should be authorial. It is permitted to use other author’s materials from different resources or from Internet but it should be explicitly detailed in references/credits.
  
  
• It is not allowed to introduce any work that has already been published or presented in the past.
  
  
• No work should include any insulting, offending elements or promote forbidden by law elements or activities.
  
  
• Remote work submissions are allowed! In the case of winning prizes we send abroad!
  
  
• Every single creation registered for competition will be kept in Archive files of Speccy.pl
  
  
• Archive that consists sent/delivered work should be named as follow: Category_Author_Titleofwork.zip
  
  
• All files should be previously uploaded to google drive / dropbox or other cloud storage service; then links to that files should be send for: tygrys (at) speccy (dot) pl The information about accepting works for the competition will be sent in a form of responding for the submission's e-mail. It's also possible to send files directly for the e-mail address presented above, it is then necessery to keep in mind restrictions of the Google's security policy according to attachments.
  
  
• Deadline for all competitors and for works delivering is 3th April 2020 (Friday) by 23:59. It is also possible to bring your work to the party till 1pm on 4th April 2020. However, we cannot guarantee that any of works that were sent after deadline will take a part in the competition.
  
  
• TXT file should be attached to the sent/delivered work/works. Please include following datas:

• Sam Coupé:
  
  * Sam Coupé 512kB + 1MB external RAM

  * ZX81 +ZXPand+ +AY
  

Competitions categories:

ZX Spectrum Demo

• Demo should work on any of computers provided by Organisers.

ZX Spectrum Intro 256b category

• Minimal loader in BASIC opening production, like: 10 CLEAR stack: LOAD ""CODE: RANDOMIZE USR address
  
  
• Max. total size of binary block: 256 bytes.
  
  
• Intro should work on any of computers provided by Organisers.
  
  

ZX Spectrum Intro 4KB category

• Minimal loader in BASIC opening production, like: 10 CLEAR stack: LOAD ""CODE: RANDOMIZE USR address
  
  
• Max. total size of binary block: 4096 bytes.
  
  
• Intro should work on any of computers provided by Organisers.
  
  

ZX Spectrum AY Music category

• We accept following music categories: AY, TurboSound / TSFM.
  
  
• One piece of work from one musician in one category is allowed.
  
  
• A track should be in executable file and working on ZX Spectrum.
  
  
• In case of lack of at least three works provided for one category, the Organisers keep the right to move them to the general competition.
  
  
• Cover versions will be moved to the Wild category.
  
  

ZX Spectrum GFX Standard

• There is a limit of maximum two works from one author.
  
  
• Allowed format: .scr (6912 bytes)
  
  
• It is also mandatory to provide at least four phases that describe the process of the creation.
  
  
• File conversions will be presented in the Wild category. In case of minimum three works provided in this category, the Organisers will open a separate competition category for them.
  
  

ZX Spectrum GFX ULA+

• There is a limit of maximum two works from one author.
  
  
• Allowed format: autoexecutable program that will run and show the graphics
  
  
• It is also mandatory to provide at least four phases that describe the process of the creation.
  
  
• File conversions will be presented in the Wild category. In case of minimum three works provided in this category, the Organisers will open a separate competition category for them.
  
  

Sam Coupé Exe

• Demo / Intro should work on Organisers computer.
  
  
• If there are at least 3 entries from the same category (256b, 1k, 4k, demo), it will be possible to conduct a dedicated competition.

Sam Coupé GFX

• There is a limit of maximum two works from one author.
  
  
• Allowed any graphics mode
  
  
• In is mandatory to provide two versions of graphics; one with signature, one without signature. The version without the signature will be presented.
  
  
• It is also mandatory to provide at least four phases that describe the process of the creation.
  
  
• File conversions will be presented in the Wild category. In case of minimum three works provided in this category, the Organisers will open a separate competition category for them.
  
  

ZX81 Demo

• Demo should work on any of computers provided by Organisers.

Wild

• Any work that cannot be qualified to one of categories specified above
  
  
• The work will be presented basing on multimedia files provided by author (.avi, .mp4 etc.)
